School will follow the regular schedule on November 11th and 18th.
There are no late starts in November 2009.November 6, 2009
Dear Parents:
As you are aware, the district has scheduled 16 late start days throughout the 2009-10 school year. The purpose of these late start dates is to provide all staff with a program of sustained professional development. The first of these days was scheduled for next Wednesday, November 11.
In order to address concerns from parents and staff, the district is postponing the start of the late start program and will be canceling the late start on November 11 and November 18. School will start at the regular time on these two dates.
The remaining late start dates will take place as scheduled. We anticipate adding the two additional late start days later in the year.
All of us at Edsel Ford High School take pride in maintaining an open line of communication between the school and parents. I’m sorry this announcement is coming at such a late time. To ensure that the late start days provide an effective forum for professional development we want to make sure that all concerns have been addressed before moving forward.
I know that these days of learning for our staff will improve instruction and help us in our goal of providing a quality education that meets the educational needs of each child in our school. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (313) 827-1500.
Sincerely,
Hassane Jaafar
Principal
